The story follows (played initially by Gaby Espino), a successful businesswoman who discovers her husband is having an affair with her cousin, Sara. In a desperate escape, Mariana crashes her car alongside Analía (Elizabeth Gutiérrez), a hitwoman sent to kill her.
A scientist discovers the wreckage and, using experimental technology, reconstructs Mariana’s face to look exactly like Analía's. When Mariana wakes up with no memory and a new face, she begins a double life, eventually returning to her own family to reclaim her life and uncover the conspiracy that led to her "death".
